A hydrosol is the aromatic water that remains after steam-distilling or hydro-distilling botanical material such as lavender. Most hydrosols are produced simply as a useful ‘by-product’ of essential oil distillation. Lavender oil is antibacterial in nature, and so is its hydrosol. It fights all kinds of strains of bacteria and can be used on acne, irritated skin, skin infections and more. Lavender anti-inflammatory properties are good for reducing inflammation and redness.
