Red Raspberry (rubus idaeus)
Rubus idaeus (raspberry, also called red raspberry or occasionally European raspberry to distinguish it from other raspberries) is a red-fruited species of Rubus native to Europe and northern Asia and commonly cultivated in other temperate regions.
Red Raspberries contain strong antioxidants such as Vitamin C, quercetin and gallic acid that fight against cancer, heart and circulatory disease and age-related decline. They are high in ellagic acid, a known chemo-preventative, and have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
There is also a multitude of benefits to red raspberry left tea. The tealeaves are naturally high in magnesium, potassium, iron and B vitamins. It’s helpful for nausea and leg cramps (which may improve sleep). It is also high in Vitamins B, C, and E, which are helpful for their immune properties and for energy.
