Rose Geranium (pelargonium graveolens)

Rose geranium oil comes from a geranium plant with leaves have a fragrance strongly similar to roses. This species of geranium is native to certain parts of Africa. It’s also called rose-scented geranium, sweet-scented geranium, or old-fashioned rose geranium. The plant has velvety, plush leaves and flowers that bloom pale pink or almost white.

Used by the Egyptians for promoting beautiful and radiant skin, geranium oil is now used to treat acne, reduce inflammation, alleviate anxiety and balance hormones. This sweet-smelling oil can also uplift your mood, lessen fatigue and promote emotional wellness.

Rose Geranium Oil is reputed to balance the skin’s natural oil production, minimize the appearance of enlarged pores, eliminate infection-causing or acne-causing bacteria, enhance circulation, reduce the appearance of varicose veins, thread veins, cellulite, and dull skin, encourage the body’s relaxation, deodorize, promote the faster fading of scars and blemishes, soothe uncomfortable skin ailments, and generally rejuvenate the complexion.

As an antioxidant rose geranium oil may help reduce the signs of aging. It is also said to have anti-inflammatory properties, strong antimicrobial, antifungal, and antiviral properties and has been shown to assist in reducing bacteria, fungi, and viruses that cause skin disease and infections.

Used in aromatherapy applications, Rose Geranium Essential Oil has a soothing sedative effect that promotes greater feelings of relaxation, emotional stability, and optimism. Additionally, it helps to deodorise stale indoor environments as well as repel insects.
